    Actor James Farentino passed away Tuesday, January 24 of heart failure. The 73 year old had apparently been ill for a long time before dying at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, California.

    Farentino had a long and active career beginning with a guest shot on Naked City in 1962. Eventually, from 1969-1972, he starred in The Lawyers segment of The Bold Ones, co-starring with Burl Ives and James Campanella.

    Released on Friday at the iTunes App store, Time Warner's (TWC) new app allows it's customers to watch live cable broadcasts from dozens of participating networks.

    With capability to adjust DVR settings and access to an interactive program guide, the new TWC app basically mirrors what was already offered to iPad users earlier last year.

    Sort of, according to research firm Accenture.

    In their survey of more than 10,000 consumers, covering 10 countries, viewers were asked how often they watched television on a television set vs other TV content devices. Results show that TV viewership on a traditional TV in an average week is down to forty-eight percent. Two years prior, the same survey showed seventy-one percent.

    The Food Network aired a new series on Sunday, January 8 called 'The Big Waste'. The show features four of their leading chef participants which were paired off against each other to prepare a delicious banquet for 100 people made with food waste.

    What they discovered about the tremendous amount of food simply thrown away is outrageous, and what is even more outrageous is that as leading chefs in the United States, they didn't already know this.

    LAS VEGAS, Nevada - With the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) kicking off on Tuesday, here are some notable DTV products and services to watch for this week at the international trade show.

    First off, Mobile DTV technology is back again this year with 10 exhibitors which will be located in the Central Hall Mobile DTV TechZone. Although mobile DTV has yet to gain traction, mobile carrier Metro PCS (in partnership with Mobile Content Venture) will be demonstrating a cell phone with an ATSC-M/H tuner that is promised to go on sale sometime in 2012. This would mark the first ATSC-M/H enabled cell phone available to the public. Will this be the spark that ignites mobile DTV?
