It varies with terrain. My "local" stations are 79 miles away. Outside of the low-VHF one (and that's a separate issue), they're in 99% or more of the time.

Similar story for folks 90 miles or more out in my area. That's the benefit of having the stations up on a mountain.

That's why we need to know which station in particular this person is trying to receive. It may be doable depending on the specific conditions.
