That's what I found out when I got out my remotes for the
dtv pal plus. Actually, it will turn the TV on and off except that my TVs are too old so they aren't in the system. At least, that's what the Geek Squad guy told me. Looking at the remote, I'm not sure where or how it would operate the TV.
New info edited in: Actually, it does not control the TV (it pays to look at the owner's manual). Now, explain to me why the Best Buy guy spent 10 minutes looking for a code? Can I scream again?
