I watched WSLS sign off, they had an interesting little bit of text with the National Anthem behind it, then an old test pattern, and it went to static. It was during the 6PM news.
I was standing next to the engineer when WDBJ was shut down. Nothing special; there'd been a slide all day, so he just powered it down at 10PM.
And I was recording WSET's information loop when the signal shut off right at midnight. It happened in the middle of Noreen Turyn talking about converter boxes or something.
