Sorry -- two different DVDs. The one that doesn't work is the the DVD that is part of the DVR5000 which is a combo DVD/VCR unit. It's what I'm trying to connect. My sister also gave me a separate DVD unit which is mentioned in all of this as well. It's the one she attached the
HDMI to in order to get it to work, but then we figured out how to get it connected so now that separate unit does work. The VCR still doesn't do squat.
