Well here is some brand new news from WLS. They have applied to put a Ch 32 digital translator right in the middle of their Ch7 contour. Never heard of anyone doing that. They just filed so they have to be approved.

To run Elliptical (H > V) which means more Horizontal than Vertical radiation. Basically it's for better reception in tall buildings, make it less critical which way your antenna is oriented to a degree.
