DEFYING GRAVITY is a sexy, provocative relationship drama set in the very near future against the background of our solar system, in which eight astronauts from five countries (four women and four men) undertake a mysterious six-year international space mission covering eight billion miles. With the eyes of the world upon them - everything they do is monitored, and every emotion they feel, scrutinized - they soon discover that their real assignment is not at all what they thought.

This is an international series, produced by Fox Television Studios in Canada, and had previously been sold into the Canadian, British and German markets. It is one of the first bunch of series produced for the international marketplace to be sold into the US market as if it were a foreign import.
They're billing the show as "Grey's Anatomy in Space" -- in case you find that attractive.
The cast for this program is incredible: Ron Livingston, Laura Harris and Christina Cox all are familiar names in my house.
This is supposed to air THIS summer, but it is still listed as being in "pre-production" on Wikipedia. However, some folks on IMDB already report having seen the pilot. Time will tell... but it will be shown on ABC, at some point.
