More on 2 Ghz splitter

Thanks Piggie for your quick reply.
I take it from your explanation that my 1 Ghz, 2 way splitter will be OK although it is a little bit of overkill. Or should I revert back to a 50-700 Mhz splitter ?
What do you advise for the best reception.
