The three digital
DVR options I talk about are:
1) Rent an
HD DVR from Cox;
2) Buy a TiVo
HD DVR (about $700 including lifetime service);
3) Buy a Moxi
HD DVR (about $800) (no antenna support).
There were some earlier
HD DVRs, but they only had one tuner, and/or are no longer in production.
I don't recommend getting a
DVR that is not digital, because you have some services for which it is possible that sometime soon Cox could switch to digital only. (Comcast is doing that in my area on October 20.) However, it is possible to mate some other DVRs, such as the TiVo S2, with cable boxes provided by Cox, though it is somewhat complicated to set up.
