Unhappy Rual HDTV reception

Jay, I live in rual Texas about 80 miles or so from the tv stations. I have a new HDTV and an outside antenna with a Radio Shack mast booster with a box hooked up to my tv and powered by electricity. Since the switch to digital in February, we get either a still picture or no signal found and this fades in and out at all times of the day or night on all the channels. Can you suggest a fix for this problem. Would a tower to add length to put my antenna on be of any help? I am located in a low area and wonder if getting my antenna up higher would help. As of now, its about 12-15 ft. above my roof on a pole. Any suggestions?
