The answer to your first question is yes, you will need a converter box for your Series 2 DVR. (According to Digital transitions: Which switch is which? - TiVo )

and yes, the Zenith DTT900 and DTT901 are compatible converter boxes with your Tivo. (According to Which digital converter boxes for antenna are compatible with my TiVo DVR? - TiVo )
