Big cable operator Charter Communications on Tuesday reported another video subscriber decline in the second quarter and a widened loss on higher costs for debt extinguishment and higher interest expense.
The loss of $107 million compared with a year-ago loss of $82 million. Revenue rose 2.2 percent to $1.79 billion.
Charter lost
79,900 residential and 3,800 commercial video subscribers in the latest quarter, but added 18,500 residential broadband and 6,600 telephony users. It ended June with 4.17 million total video customers,
down 5 percent from the 4.41 million it had a year earlier.
