    Vizio competing with Apple is like Timex competing with Patek Philippe.

    Apple sells an expensive product that is high end and over-engineered.

    Vizio sells a product that is "good enough" for the masses but cheap.

    They're not going to put a dent in Apple's sales. People who want Apple will get Apple.

    Not if they can't afford Apple. I agree on the quality issue, but there are a lot of people who can't afford those products, even on the low end. There's a commercial out for the low priced Kindle eReader and I always am taken aback by it because the gal says she "only" paid $139 for it and that she spent more on her sunglasses. Trust me, I'm not in her financial league. If Vizio puts out something under $100, as an example, then maybe, but Kindle will never get my business.
