"Any man who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by letting the government take care of him better take a closer look at the American Indian" - Henry Ford
A great actor to be sure but we gotta' add him to the long list of famous "wife beaters" along with Glen Campbell, David Soul, Jackson Brown, and others. Life gets tough sometimes and people do stupid things. RIP Harry.

I met him very briefly once, and he was very nice to me. That was on the set of Blacke's Magic. I actually think of him more as Bill Gannon on Dragnet that Colonel Potter on MASH. I also remember his role in The Glenn Miller Story with Jimmy Stewart.

I don't wanna' supply evidence because I wasn't there...and stop hitting me with that hammer!
Harry Morgan - Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaIn July 1997, Morgan was charged with abusing his wife a year earlier, after a beating left her with injuries to her eye, foot, and arm. Prosecutors dropped the charges after the 82-year-old actor completed a six-month domestic violence counseling program.
After living for four years with a woman who tried (unsuccessfully) on numerous occasions to get me to beat her, I tend not to judge very harshly. If my marriage hadn't ended when it did, I could see that I could have eventually become a "wife beater." Domestic violence goes both ways. Both with women who try to provoke it, and women who become physically violent toward their husbands (or boyfriends) because they understand that if he retaliates he goes to jail. One of the things that makes domestic relationships so problematic is there generally aren't any witnesses to know what actually happened. That generally leads to a bias against the man since he is generally bigger and stronger, and can do more damage.
I wonder why he didn't claim PTSD? In MASH, he often mentioned serving in WW1, WW2 and of course, Korea. Oh, wait -- that was only an acting roll.
