This week has been full of season ending stories on several dramas and many have been powerful in their storytelling.

Monday saw a cliffhanger finale for Hawaii 5-0 which is probably my favorite show at the moment. Still, as much as the final moment had me going, "Wow," I also felt a sadness and regret that TV has gotten to the point where reality seems to be killing off regular characters.

Louisiana police are reporting that Mitchell Guist, a star of the History Channel's Swamp People fell from a boat today and later died in the hospital. The cause of his fall has not been released.

The show, Swamp People follows Cajun alligator hunters. Mr. Guist had appeared on seasons 2 and 3 of the show. While I have never been a fan of the show, my 90 year old dad loves it, a fact that fascinates me. May Mr. Guist rest in peace.

Sarah Hyland, who portray's Haley Dunphy on ABC's highly successful show Modern Family revealed today that she's had life changing surgery in April. Apparently she's suffered from kidney disease since an early age but had to wait until it had progressed before she could undergo a kidney transplant. Her father donated a kidney to the 21 year old. She's endured a very serious disease for someone who plays such a comedic role as the ditzy, older daughter of Claire and Phil Dunphy, played by Julie ...

As the networks continue to roll out renewals and new program orders, they are also passing out pink slips, dashing the hopes of performers and fans alike. Some of these make me happy, while others just leave me disappointed and shaking my head.

I was very pleased to hear that Dana Delany's Body of Proof will return on ABC for a third season. It is one of the few dramas on that I find to be interesting which does not include an overabundance of either the ...
