Bristol Palin: Horrendous Ratings and a New Lawsuit

Two stories, related to a certain degree, caught my eye on Wednesday. First, I was absolutely delighted to see the ratings for a new reality show airing on Lifetime called Bristol Palin: Life’s A Tripp. Ratings revealed that the Tuesday premier episode was watched by a mere 726,000 households. Not only that, but some million people actually turned the channel after watching the Dance Moms episode that preceded the Palin entry.

Bristol PalinCould America finally be over the Palin fame game? Goodness, I certainly hope so. Listen, I am a Democrat, but I have voted for many a Republican in my voting lifetime. In truth, when Sarah Palin, Bristol's mom, was first announced as John McCain's running mate, I was fascinated. Then she opened her mouth and it was not long before I realized America was going to be in big trouble if she found her way into the White House. Her resignation as the governor of Alaska just solidified my opinion.

When Bristol went on Dancing with the Stars, I groaned. It was so obvious how this tied in to trying to give the Palins a better reputation with mainstream America. Then Bristol was going to move to the mainland and be part of a reality show with Kyle Massey and his brother. Massey, too, is an alum of Dancing with the Stars.

That brings me to the second piece of news. The Masseys are suing the production company and the executive producer -- Associated Television International and David McKenzie -- in an attempt to block the show. The Masseys claim they were part of the creative process and did a lot of the advance work for the show in that the original reality series was pitched to networks and then dumped when Palin opted to return to Alaska. Reportedly, the new show is actually part of what was to be the original show, only without the Masseys.

I am rooting for the Massey boys and continue to hope that the country lets the Palins drift into history, although with Todd Palin, Sarah's hubby and Bristol's daddy, competing this summer on Stars & Stripes, a new NBC competition series, they certainly are not making it easy.

Like mother, like daughter. Bristol is selling herself in any form or fashion just like Sarah, to make that money. She pays a ghost-writer to slap together blog entries on hot-button issues to shamelessly promote herself. Talk about some successful capitalists- all body and no brains. See how far they’re willing to go for the cash at DREGstudios! The Artwork of Brandt Hardin: The Ecstasy of Sarah Palin
