DirecTV's New Hurricane Sandy Channel

Satellite television provider DirecTV has launched their 24-hour Hurricane Sandy info channel this morning at 9 AM.

The channel will provide live and prerecorded broadcasts of Hurricane Sandy information for viewers on channels 325 and 349.

Coverage of the hurricane will include broadcasts from New York, N.Y., Washington, DC., Philadelphia, Pa., Baltimore, Md., and Norfolk, Va. Hurricane coverage is said to include evacuations, closures, and critical information for viewers as DirecTV tracks the storm.

According to their press release, DirecTV will plan on running the channel until Hurricane Sandy "has diminished in strength."
