Amongst preparations, cable providers are working with power companies and emergency workers to help limit damage. Officials from Comcast were noted on thehill about plans to utilize backup generators in worst case scenarios during the storm.
Pay TV providers such as Comcast and TimeWarner cable were rescheduling installations and service calls according to FierceCable.
Wireless telecommunication companies were making preparations as well while Hurricane Sandy approaches.
In fact, wireless carriers were asking customers to text instead of calling in affected areas by the storm. Following that advice would preserve network resources for emergency workers. For more info, see NYDailyNews.
