Default Comcast attempts to "stuff the ballot box" in "Worst Company in America" competition!

    Classic Comcast here:
The Consumerist conducts an annual poll to determine the "Worst Company In America". Comcast won the honor last year, and was awarded the much coveted "Golden Poo" trophy.

Determined to not be beaten by this years' favorites, BP and Bank of America, Comcast has asked its employees to stuff the ballot box - because it's much easier than actually fixing their many problems.

We know that none of the companies in this year's Worst Company In America tournament want to be on the list. But reigning Golden Poo holder Comcast has decided that, rather than actually do anything about the problems that make it a perennial favorite, it will just beg its employees to vote — multiple times — for the other guy.

Do you think this could backfire, Comcast?

    lol, come on Comcast.

One thing that bothers me about these voting on things like this is that consumerist.com is actually putting names up for voters to choose rather than letting voters name companies.

The companies are nominated by readers prior to the actual voting. Everyone has a fair chance to get nominated and "win".

    I second that!

Why do I not like Comcast? I've never been able to get the kind of internet speeds they advertise. I've had a problem with jumpy speeds for over a year now and everytime they send a "tech" out, the guy checks it out and gets it working right for an hour, then the problem comes back. It's so frustrating.

There are issues with every cable/satellite company, though. My issues with Comcast are basically two things now: 1) We do not have all of the stations we should that others Comcast cities carry. I want the TV channels like Sleuth. They haven't added a really good basic cable channel in years here (I am excluding language channels and sports ones that you actually have to pay for). It's all HD. I don't have and don't want HD. I am an ignored consumer in that regard. 2) Pricing has gone up ridiculously (to pay for the HD by the way). There was a time when I had everything but Telemundo and Playboy and it was something like $95. These days it's $130 for their 2nd to the lowest option. I'm scared to see what it would be if I had the premier channels like I used to.

That's why I have issues with Comcast. The service situations occur from time to time. I just went through one, in fact, but they usually do fix it and I do get credit for the inconveniences, so I'm more willing to give them a pass on that than I am for the lack of adding channels for my cable group and the outrageous prices.

Yes, other pay tv providers are bad, too. Example: DirecTV and Dish's automatic contract reset if you replace faulty components. A few of the reasons Comcast gets the votes are it's a big target, and then there's "little things" like stuffing a ballot box rather than actually fixing problems!
