Note thought that newer is not always better. I've read lots of reports from folks returning DCX-series DVRs in favor of DCH-series DVRs, due to some of the early problems with the newer device.
Also, besides more storage space, I haven't read much in terms of other advantages of the newer boxes. It has more modern technology inside, of course, but because the head-ends have to support the older boxes, as well, they cannot substantially upgrade the software they deploy.

Thanks for the responses. I ended up calling and trying to negotiate with the Comcast representative I was speaking too, but I may go with the Tivo option since it is available. Thanks for the email addresses Doug, I'll be sure to keep them handy in case I have any problems or complaints.
