2010 Stanley Cup games score higher ratings over last year
The Chicago Blackhawks ended the longest running drought in Stanley Cup history by beating Philadelphia Flyers 4-3 in game 6 Wednesday night to win the championship. It had been 49 years since the Blackhawks had taken a Stanley Cup title, and last night's exciting overtime victory proved to be a winner for Versus and NBC in the ratings department as well; receiving a 5.8 rating and 10 share, up almost 30 percent from the game six telecast of the Red Wings versus the Penguins in 2009.
Overall Stanley Cup ratings are up
The first 5 Stanley Cup Final games have seen an 10 percent increase in viewership with an average 4.6 million viewers per game over last year's 4.1 million average per game.
