  • Dish Network settles with Fox over retransmission fees

Dish NetworkJust days before the Oct. 31st deadline, Dish Network reached an agreement on Friday with New's Corps. Fox Network over retransmission fees for broadcast of local Fox affiliates.

Much like the ongoing Cablevision retransmission fee dispute, customers of Dish Network would have also faced losing local Fox programming starting on Nov 1st.

Dave Shull, senior vice president of programming for Dish Network released a statement, "After prolonged negotiations to reach a fair deal, we're pleased to enter into a long-term agreement with Fox and to assure our customers that they can continue to enjoy these channels.”

The agreement also includes restoring other Fox Network channels (Fox Regional Sports Networks, FX, the National Geographic Channel) which were shut off 4 weeks ago on Oct. 1st.

Details of the deal were not immediately available, but it was described as "long-term."
