  • Mythbusters to be in 3D?

Though an exact date has yet to be given, the 3D TV network is coming to television most likely in 2011, which means the new channel is looking for entertainment to offer. A spokesman for the 3D network, confirmed that the channel is "extremely interested" in adding to their schedule a 3D version of the hit show, Mythbusters.

MythbustersMythbusters, a science based series that tests out myths and common beliefs about all kinds of products, airs on the Discovery Channel, which is part of Discovery Communications, one of the three companies behind the 3D Network. The other two are Imax and Sony Corp.

No deal has yet been completed, but the new network is looking to film shows that would be made with 3D in mind. That's really the goal of the network for most if not all of the series it will carry, not to enhance a show for 3D but to produce shows specifically made for a 3D audience.

Whether or not this will be economically feasible isn't known as yet. Other Discovery Channel shows may also be considered for the 3D concept as well.
