Not quite, but ABC is three steps, or angels, further into their revamped version of the hit series, Charlie's Angels. Back in the 70's, the show boosted the careers of Kate Jackson, Jaclyn Smith, and Farrah Fawcett (then Fawcett-Majors). While not necessarily as long lasting, it also shot Angel replacements Cheryl Ladd, Shelly Hack, and Tanya Roberts into the spotlight.
Then in the early 2000's, Drew Barrymore put the Angels in movie theaters, along with Lucy Liu and Cameron Diaz. Enamored with the Angels franchise, this new revival is also on Barrymore's executive producer plate.
Getting their shot at the much loved Angel wings are Minka Kelly, Annie Ilonzeh and Rachel Taylor. Ilonzeh, currently on General Hospital, was actually the first to be cast. Her part most resembles the Jackson role.
From Friday Night Lights, Kelly's role is essentially equal to that of Smith's, leaving Taylor, best known for Transformers, in the iconic Fawcett part.
Still missing from the puzzle is who will be cast as Bosley (the Doyle role) and, perhaps more importantly, the voice of the never seen (except for his hands and back of the head) Charlie. Robert Wagner's name as been bandied around for the vocal talent, but it's just a rumor as of now.
