Timewarner App for iPhone Allows Viewers to Watch Live TV

Released on Friday at the iTunes App store, Time Warner's (TWC) new app allows it's customers to watch live cable broadcasts from dozens of participating networks.

With capability to adjust DVR settings and access to an interactive program guide, the new TWC app basically mirrors what was already offered to iPad users earlier last year.


To use the app, iPhone owners must be a TWC customer and connect to a wi-fi router on TWC's broadband service. The app is "free" to use as no extra fees or charges, besides the cost of cable and broadband which are already billed to the account holder.

TWC's new app follows in the footsteps of rival Cablevision, though the latter's app offers access to On Demand services.

Although Time Warner released an app for Android users last month, capabilities are limited to DVR settings and program guide viewing.
