Eric Szmanda, Ralph Macchio, and Mads Mikkelsen made news yesterday with signings for various TV shows and movies.
As reported exclusively by The Hollywood Reporter, Szmanda is returning to CBS' hit show, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. He has played Greg Sanders since the show's launch in 2000 and is one of only three cast members to have been on the program since its inception. Last month, Jorja Fox also resigned for the 13th season, meaning Sara Sidle Grissom is back for at least one more year. George Eads is also signed to reprise his Nick Stokes role. Eads and Paul Guilfoyle are the other two members of the cast who have worked on CSI from the get go.
Elsewhere, the new suspense drama, Hannibal, has finally found its star. Copenhagen's Mads Mikkelsen has signed on for the NBC series, set to last 13 episodes. Last month, Mikkelsen was named the best actor for The Hunt during the Cannes Film Festival.
Meanwhile, The Outsider's Ralph Macchio not only appears on TV Land's Happily Divorced this week, but he could recur if the Fran Drescher show is renewed for a third year. The episode entitled, "Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place" airs June 6.
The Karate Kid star has also connected with Lifetime to make Holiday Spin, a Christmas movie to air on the network. Macchio portrays a dance studio owner whose son, played by Garrett Clayton, comes to live with him after his mother dies.
