Tripplehorn Joins 'Criminal Minds' while 'Burn Notice' to Lose Main Character
Two big announcements came Thursday, one concerning an addition to a hit TV series and the other revolving around a potential exit.
With Paget Brewster's departure from Criminal Minds, it is no surprise that a new FBI profiler would be added to the show. Today, CBS revealed that Jeanne Tripplehorn would be filling that role. However, there is as yet no specific information on her character, including the name. All that is known is that Tripplehorn will make her debut in the first episode of season 8. The actress's best known role up until now is in the series, Big Love, where she played Barb Henrickson.
Also in the news today is a hint of a lost cast member during the next season of Burn Notice. This news from the show's star, Jeffrey Donovan as Michael Weston, who states that in the process of his character's getting a girlfriend and partner, Fiona (Gabrielle Anwar), one of the main characters is killed. Obviously, that is not him or Fiona.
The problem with Donovan's cryptic remarks is that the show only has four regulars -- Donovan, Anwar, Bruce Campbell, and Sharon Gless. Thus, the question becomes is Campbell ready to move on and not be the second banana anymore, or is Gless leaving in her role as Donovan's mother?
Donovan stated season 6 is the darkest of all, so viewers will have to tune in to find out just how much of a blow Michael Weston's loss is.
