Jennifer Hudson and Maura Tierney Join Hit Series for Multi-Show Arcs
Good news came last week for fans and producers of Smash and The Good Wife. The cause of the good feelings is the announcement that two awesome talents are taking on recurring roles for these series when the fall TV season commences.
Over on NBC, American Idol alum and award winner, Jennifer Hudson, has signed on to make several appearances on Smash, the hit series that deals with the production of a Broadway play surrounding Marilyn Monroe's relationship with baseball great, Joe DiMaggio.
Hudson is set to play Veronica Moore, a Tony-award winning actress who somehow has an impact on two of the show's leading characters, Karen and Ivy. Last season, Uma Thurman did the same.
Meanwhile, over on ABC's The Good Wife, breast-cancer survivor Maura Tierney is coming on board for a multi-episode arc. Tierney was last seen on Rescue Me and The Whole Truth. Her character on The Good Wife will be part of the political scene, a millionaire who probably will become involved with Chris Noth's character of Peter Florrick who is running for governor during the new season. There was nothing said about whether or not she could ultimately end up as part of a triangle with Peter and wife, Alicia, played by Julianna Margulies.
