    Google announced today that the Nexus 7 tablet will be available for pre-order at the Google Play store for $199 and begin shipping in mid-July.

    Google Nexus 7Specs on the Asus branded tablet include a resolution of 1,280x800 pixels on a 7-inch screen, with a 1.3GHz Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core CPU, and a Nvidia 12-core GPU. Other tech tidbits include a Micro-USB port, 1GB of RAM, 1.2-megapixel front camera, GPS, and built-in Wi-Fi.

    The unveiling came in a keynote given at Google's I/O 2012 conference. The Nexus 7 will also be pre-loaded with Transformers Dark of the Moon movie and include a $20 credit to spend at the Google Play store.
