Nathan Fillion and 'Firefly' Co-Stars to Appear at Comic Con 2012
The interest in the short-lived TV series, Firefly, remains strong, so much so that star Nathan Fillion and others have signed on to appear at this year's Comic Con. The Hollywood Reporter first announced the news yesterday in an exclusive release. The science fiction show about a crew of 9 surviving in space 500 years into the future lasted only a single season when it aired in 2002. However, fan support resulted in a 2005 movie, Serenity, which was the name of the ship the crew flew in.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fillion will be part of a reunion panel with his co-stars, including Alan Tudyk, Adam Baldwin, Sean Maher, and Michael Fairman. The rest of the cast may also attend, but their names were not confirmed in the story. The 10th Anniversary Panel will also include series creator, Josh Whedon, and writer Tim Minear. Currently, the event is scheduled for Friday, July 13 at the San Diego Convention Center.
The panel is slated to last an hour and will include never before seen footage from the show, per the Science Channel which is bringing the panel to the annual event. The channel, which has been airing the cult series for quite awhile, has promised even more surprises for attendees during the panel.
After Firefly, Fillion went on to appear on One Life to Live and Desperate Housewives before landing the starring role in the current hit series, Castle.
