DirecTV and Encore plan '007' and sweepstakes for subscribers in July

July will be Bond, James Bond month for Encore viewers, as the television channel will air no less than 19, 007 films,while also working with DirecTV to bring its customers the chance to win an exquisite trip to Richard Branson's private island in the Caribbean.

The Encore bond event includes featurettes with Olga Kurylenko, who garnered media attention by portraying "Bond girl" Camille Montes in the 22nd 007 film, Quantum of Solace. Kurylenko is also know for starring as Nina Boronina in the 2007 movie adaptation of the video game Hitman.

Encore's "Bond Collection" features 19 007 films, including Goldfinger, From Russia with Love, The Spy Who Loved Me, You Only Live Twice and Goldeneye. The movies will be aired every evening at 8 p.m, and will be available throughout the month of July for all Encore subscribers, either via DirecTV Everywhere or Encore on Demand.

The sweepstakes will be available only for DirecTv subscribers, staring June 30, and participants will be able to register through DirecTv's Facebook page.

The "James Bond Private Island" tab provides all the details that users need to know in order to submit their entry. They must first "like" the page and then follow a set of simple instructions. They will gain a chance at winning a round-trip air fare and seven-night accommodation for two, food and drink, wireless internet, as well as a special adventure on an aero-submarine, lasting an entire day. This luxury trip is valued at no less than $36,000.

With regards to the Bond month and associated content, executive vice president of programming at Starz Entertainment, Stephan Shelanski, stated that "bringing the best of Bond back to Encore is another reason why the network remains so popular with subscribers and viewers of all ages", but also that "this is a tremendous summer event and we are thrilled to partner with DirecTV to offer this once in a lifetime experience."
