  • Dish Network and Gannett Reach Agreement

Dish Network and Gannett Co were able to agree to terms early Monday morning over a retranmission deal that will allow 22 local broadcast station to continue operating on the satellite providers network. The deal happened in the early hours of the morning without programming interruption, due in part to an extension that had been agreed to by both companies.

Dish Network Vs GannettDetails about the deal remain undisclosed at this time, but Gannett had voiced its concern over the "AutoHop" feature which allowed Dish customers to automatically skip over commercials recorded on their DVRs. Dish is already in a legal battle over the new feature, with major broadcast networks such as Fox, CBS, and ABC.

Gannett was seeking an increase of 300 percent in retrans fees, according to Dish. An amount "more than 200% above current rates," Dish claims.
