Default Converter Box with HDMI or Component Connections

I have been to 4 different stores to buy a converter box for my HD ready TV. Everyone of the boxes I've seen does not have an HDMI or Component output on it. Why is this such an oversight by converter box makers???

If your TV is HD ready then it probably has a digital tuner built in. Why would you want a box for? these boxes only do standard 480i. Nothing better.

You won't be able to buy a CECB (DTV Coupon Approved Converter Box) with any type of output like that. You'll have to look around the net for HD Converter Boxes. The Samsung DTB-H260F has these outputs available

RF: - x1
HDMI: - x1
S-Video: - x1
Component: - x1
Composite: - x2
Digital Audio (Optical): - x1

It sells for $100-$125.

Foolish me, I forgot to mention that the TV does not have a digital tuner. It's HD ready, because it's a widescreen capable of 1080i resolution. Thanks for the suggestion Byte. I've searched, and have not found too many OTA HD converters on the market.

if you are going with a coupon box all will be standard Definition, but there are some Highdef receivers out there that have digital tuners but they are pricey. buy the way all the DTVPAL_PLUS and the DTVPAL DVR have component cables and f connectors for coax, also the insignia and the zenith have RCA or component connections.
