#2 I believe the remote for the Dish Network 522 satellite receiver is the same. Look on eBay. You can pick one up for $15.00
#3 It takes up to 48 hours to receive the full two weeks of TVGOS. If your guide shows the TV GUIDE logo in the upper right corner when guide is pressed. You should get a full 8 days of program information. Make sure you have entered your correct Zip Code and wait for 2 days to see if it works. If that doesn't work there are a few other things we can try.
I appreciate the input on # 1 & 2, but concerning #3 i cannot get more than current day programming and a partial day for the next day here in dallas fort worth, sometimes fox will give u several days but that is it, this is with tv guide and psip. i have been trying this for over a month now, i have used my zipcode and used as suggested the local cbs zipcode, none of it works. i have called the tv stations to no avail. i have talked to dish, and can get better responses from the stop sign at the end of our street. my firmware is 207. i do not know what to do. everything else seems to work perfect experienced no problems that others have, but i bought late and my unit came with firmware 206. i even called tv guide but no one would call me back. is there anything can do to get this thing to work . i have spent hours on inet and telephone and cannot get it to work. how am i screwing this up.. THANKS Please help

is it downloading the channel guide when you turn it on, if it is then it is not getting the download I get 7 days on the guide, but some channels have no info because the stations do not make it available.

here is what i get. one day of programming for the other 6 days i only get programming for fox channel 4 and none of the other network stations and tidbit of programming from the religious channels etc.

i have noticed on the current days programming it may have no info available but if i swithch to that channel sometimes the programming appears after i do

Have you tried contacting the engineering department at KTVT? Tell them the issues your having and ask them if their equipment for transmitting TVGOS is functioning 100%. I'm wondering if the TVGOS issues will work themselves out after the DTV transition is complete. If it's any comfort my TVGOS still isn't working
As per rabbitears the station responsible for the TVGOS is CBS
Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas KTVT 11 (19 → 11)

thanks and yes sir, i have been speaking with ken foot at cbs he is looking into it, he says the basic problem is tv guide they are troublesome to work with, but who knows, everyone says something different. i have also spoken to nbc and abc, what does not make any sense at all is fox 4 has a full weeks of programming and if they can do it, everyone should be able to also.

hopefully after the switch things will be ok, but i will not hold my breath, either way echostar or dish should be held accountable and be required to get it working with no excuses. the programming guide is the most important part of the unit.

I have the DTVpal plus converter box as my "emergency backup in case the cable is out". Now I've started thinking about the DVR version because probably 75% of what I record is on broadcast networks anyhow and an extra dvr would be nice.

Here is my concern - on my converter box, I'm only getting something like 12-18 hour of the guide, and no TVG logo. However, according to rabbitears, my local CBS channel is supposed to be including the TVGOS info. FWIW, I have no problem receiving that channel. As I understand it, the TVGOS would give me the extended schedule, true? Is there something I need to "do" to enable to TVGOS display, or is this maybe something that will change after the transition? Well, I guess I can wait 4 days and 17 hours to find out

If the converter box doesn't have the extended guide, would the DVR? One of the plusses of the Comcast DVR that I have is the two week onscreen guide. I can scan through that and program shows that are on next week when I think of them.

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm waiting until the full transition to see what happens with the TVGOS issue. Meanwhile you can set the timer to a weekly time slot on a specified channel to record your programming.
