remote control not working with best buy converter box

I bought a converter box at Best Buy,hooked it
up,but,it’s not working.The remote to the converter box is not working,I push the menu
button.I have listen to what they keep telling
me what to do,I do it and nothing happens,got
any suggestions.

What to try if your converter box has no power or suddenly turns off

What make and model is your CECB?
What does the CECB do or not do?
