Yeah but my photobucket account takes forever and causes the router to drop connections and the computer to crash (requires Flash player)
It saves more time to not have to go to that site, login, and hope flash works and not drop the internet for 10 min. i'm already logged in here and it gives me the code and i don't post many images anyways.
Back to the tuner, it's still wonderful. the 'mini guide' is a lot like a CECB, shows up to 12 hours of data for the currently tuned channel, but the full guide puts the Dish DTVPal to shame. it's the same type (not sure if it's TVGOS though) and shows a window of your currently tuned channel as you browse. it also shows a window for any channel you want to 'preview'.
The pros are that it not only makes HD out of OTA channels (i'm not sure if the channel has to broadcast in HD though, there's a switch on the back for converted resolution all the way to 1080i/p) and it also does so for a analog cable channel. so you do not have to subscribe to Digi-cable to get HD cable, unless you desire the extras such as video on demand, music choice, etc which the tuner won't do.
The cons are the tuner requires a 50% or better signal, so VHF is spotty (NO BALUNS!!!! need to have a gold-plated high-quality screw-on RG-6 cable) and the full guide is slooooooow. channel tuning takes a few seconds so you may want to get a remote control or a universal remote to direct-tune. sorry, Channel surfers! if you 'scan' too fast it just stays on the same channel. the box has a switch on the rear to switch between resolutions, so no remote function. have to get off the couch. but for me and anyone who has either an analog tv, or prefers one HD resolution and no other, that's fine. i was able to still get a 65% signal for my Battlestar Galactica fix though. so that's fine.
One more con. for a box this new, there's absolutely no HDMI output or input. just a DVI out.

I really wish I could find a SIR-T451 or the new model DTBH260F somewhere. Both have been discontinued.

I found mine in a flea market.
However, a lot of things that are just showing up as 'new' in stores here in Kentucky have been discontinued for at least a year. seriously. we're a year late to get any 'new' tech. in fact, the Motorola RAZR V3 is a 'new item' here in Wal-Mart. in GoPhone and in contracts. the price has dropped considerably but they're still sold as 'new' phones even though the line is also discontinued.
My Dish DTVPal Plus kicked the bucket (pegged 0% on all channels even after a reset all of a sudden) so i got this tuner to try it out. i do like it, and do think it's neat how the channels show up on an LED display. if i look at it a certain way, it reminds me of those old C-band satellite tuners used in the 1980s that had the channel LEDs too. sorta. it was merely a replacement for the defective CECB but i do love it.

When something's not made any more, demand often makes the price go up.

My 'historic' 1984 Chrysler 5th Avenue was purchased @ $350. i doubt it's worth that now :P
but one can still find old EDO RAM for over $100 here at Staples. go figure.
