Remember that one post awhile back where i asked about whether or not this '
HDTV Tuner' would pick up digital channels? well i picked it up to test it out. it has a slider in the rear where one can select 'resolution' all the way from 1080i/p down to 480i/p (analog too) and i found out it beats the CECBs out by a country mile. excellent tuner reception and many more features.
It has RCA A/V out and pass-through too. (the 'ant out' coax port doesn't go to a TV, just passes analog through the box. you need A/V or digital-out (
DVI/
HDMI) to view reception from the box itself) it has a very fancy on-screen guide that i'll have to put up here soon.
It also has a LED display on the front. says 'standby' when off, when powered on, says 'BOOT' then goes to whatever channel you're on. such as 'A-07' is Analog-output (for a standard non-
HDTV) and on Digital Channel 7. it says the same channel whether or not you're viewing a sub-channel. the on-screen display shows the channel and sub-channel numbers. it has a '
HDTV-Tuner' logo which stays on throughout successful reception and blinks if reception is spotty or nonexistant.
I haven't played that much with it other than to see how it performs but it's a very nice box. i don't know much more about it other than those few things.
I'm going to buy a nice universal remote for it since the one which came with it is MIA. the front panel has 'power on/off, Exit, Menu, Enter,' and a 4-way pushbutton for up/down/left/right.
