We are not a psychiatric forum. lol.
Seriously. Here is the results from me and Eureka. Wish Don had of chimed in also.
Eureka's take: He has used the 7694P in LR already with the same spread of 100 degrees as you have with success.
My take, is the HBU22 is electrically on paper a better antenna for your situation.
Both of us agree the Winegard 7694P is a superior built antenna as far as sever weather. Though the AntennaCraft HBU22 is their new line of antenna and doesn't have any complaints from users at all.
I would say, if Eureka says he has used 7694p and had luck it's the better antenna.
One thing I didn't nor did Eureka go into was the Winegard 7694p is better on rejecting reflections from hills you don't want, way better than the HBU22.
This last fact I am going with Eureka and telling you to buy a 7694p Winegard. Get it up above the roof line at least.
Now, once up, if any channels are right on the edge breaking up, it appears you could use an amp where you are located, but it's close.
Try it first with no amp and just a 7694p up at least 15 ft if that clears the house tops in your neighborhood.
Here is the best price on the net and they are very good about standing behind damage in shipping, plus Winegard themselves are excellent with their customer support. I know the head of their customer support and can email him to contact you or you can talk to him directly on his forum. So Winegard is very accessible for help.
There forum is
http://www.winegard.com/phpbb3/index.php and the person with the nickname Winegard, is their head of customer service. He answers questions fast in there.
