Are you using an antenna on the converter box?

So with coaxial cable from the converter to VCR to TV it works and you can record? Or it works meaning you can only watch the converter box, not record shows from it.

Default how to record a tv show under dtv converter box

Yes, I'm using an antenna on the converter box and I can record a show to my vcr, but when I'm playing it back, I just see black stripes and invisible images of the recorded show
