Question How many channels?

Does anyone know exactly how many channels DirecTV has that actually have programming? I can spend hours just scrolling through channels and still can't find something I really want to watch. I wonder when they will start going into the 1000's.

I don't know...there are just so many channels and then subchannels and so forth. It's hard for me through directv not to find something that I don't want to watch...but then again I do tape a lot of things as well.

I think DirecTV should have a contest to name; how many channels are in the basic package, how many pay per view channels, how many monthly subcription channels, and how many channels that only play music there are and who ever gets it right gets a free year of service.

what is funny is that even with hundreds of channels, there are probably no more than 10 that i watch on a frequent basis.

I only watch a handful of channels myself. The hard part is remembering the actual channel number. I usually start with a channel I know in the mid 200's and scroll up and down from there.

Omg, I TOTALLY agree. We have nearly 1000 channels and it's just frickin' pointless. They all have the same crap on them all the time and we end up watching like 5 of them in the end. So what about I paying for? O.O

You want your TV to have 1000 channels? Ha ha! When I still had my TV with 500 channels. I don't think I've all of it it. And you want 1000 channels on TV. ^_^.

I don't even know, but there are so many. I am very happy with that. That is what I have been looking for, so they are just perfect for me.
