I just updated the software on my HD DVR this evening and I'm receiving the message, "Your cables or TV aren't HD". My HDTV is actually capable of 1080p, but for some reason, I can only get the HD DVR to display a picture if I set it for 480p.

What cables are you using to connect the DVR to the TV.
I have to assume you're not using an HDMI cable to connect the TV to the DVR.
Component will also carry HD. Composite and svideo wont.
