The government ended that program nearly a year ago. So if you need a converter box now, you will have to pay the store's price for it. The best time to have taken advantage of it was back in February or March of 2008 (or whenever it actually started). It's unfortunate you waited too long. My next door neighbor now regrets waiting to jump onto DTV, that she now must pay retail price for her converter box. She also has to get a new outdoor antenna, due to the antenna she has now has missing elements, & being over 20 years old.
