When browsing around in the thrift store to settle my love of cheap gadgets (you'd be surprised how new some of them are) i spotted this. can't be more than a year old.
HDTV Tuner. it was a box. sorta like a satellite receiver but for
OTA. i don't know if it was a converter, but it had not only
HDMI and
DVI outputs, but also analog A/V outputs, plus
VGA-out for what i guess is a computer display. inputs for antenna, too.
Is this a converter? does it work with digital
OTA TV? i don't know. it looked fancy, had a display on the front of it, and MENU, GUIDE, etc buttons on the front. what i wonder is, if i paid the $5 for it, would it work the same way as a
CECB or is it for specific applications?
I didn't see any inputs for satellite or cable but it did have A/V inputs so i guess it's either for
OTA viewing or just converting analog VCR/DVD input to
HD-quality output? possibly an upconverter? but the 'Tuner' label makes me curious.
