Could you give more specifics on the type of terrain is between you and the TV transmission towers? Are you on a bluff overlooking a town where the towers are?

Do you want to put something up outside on the roof? Or are you looking for an indoor solution?

It seems like you have very strong signals, and they are all in one general direction. You do have a VHF Low and 2 VHF High stations, and interestingly enough the Fox and PBS are very low channel UHFs. Everything in the yellow is UHF as well.

With CBS on channel 2, you need an outdoor antenna with long elements to obtain good reception for the long haul, simply because it's the lowest-frequency TV channel. Set-top rabbit ears aren't very reliable for high-VHF stations (such as channel 7), and they perform even more poorly at lower frequencies such as channel 2. Look into a high-quality, all-channel model such as Winegard's HD-7080 or Channel Master's 3018.

where I live im on top of the mountain above everything and all the mountains higher then me are to the Utah side opposite of the broadcast antenna's right now i use two different antenna's a cheap rabbit ear antenna for my bedroom dtv converter box that gets most channels and one round antenna directv provided similar to Channel Master CM 3000 Suburban Outdoor Amplified Omnidirectional not that just looks like it I don't understand how a cheap antenna and a access hd tv convert box gets more channels then both my directv built in turners. I did read somewhere maybe im getting to strong of a signal and in overload not sure what that means or how to fix it someone had the same problem as me but with a tivo hd but same everything other then his was tivo and mine is directv im willing to spend upto 200 bucks to get my local channels for my directv anything will be grateful one last note he lived 1.6 miles from the stations im almost 20 to 36 from them so i think weak not too strong but he had same synthoms so im clueless

Winegard HD-7080 antenna? $85.

Antenna mount and mast? $35.

Two-way splitter and RG-6 coaxial cables for wiring the 7080 to both receivers? $40.

Reliable over-the-air HD? Priceless.

Putting it up yourself is easy if you're comfortable around tools, ladders and the roof. If you need an installer, a contractor will charge maybe $100-$200 for a job like this.

Omni-directional (circular) antennas are flat-out terrible for digital reception in general, and even worse on low-numbered channels like those occupied by your CBS and ABC affiliates. Its built-in amplifier causes even more problems. Do yourself a favor, and get rid of it. Your signals are strong enough that if you get an HD-7080, it won't need an amplifier to feed two or even three tuners. So, go for it! You'll be glad you did.

An HD-7082 would provide a little extra gain over the 7080. If you want to spend the extra money on it, the 7082 would be a great choice. Keep size in mind, though, if you plan to install one of these antennas yourself: Both are 9 feet wide; the 7080 is 7.5 feet long, while the 7082 is more than 9 feet long. For safety's sake, get a friend to help while putting up either.

The 769x-series antennas, excellent as they are, aren't suited to your situation, since none is designed to receive channel 2 (which is too bad, as all of them are about 3 feet wide).

Solid Signal generally has competitive prices, and in most cases is pretty reliable. More importantly, they seem to be well stocked right now, when a lot of antenna vendors aren't. Most makers are beyond busy as TV antennas are very popular these days. Winegard is two or three months behind on orders from retailers. For example, I also checked Newegg because they've also had really good prices on W-G antennas in the past. No dice -- they've been cleaned out of these and many other models.

I personally like the 7082p. Its my favorite of that whole lineup.

7080p
7082p
7084p
8200p

This is a good spot to look at specs and polar patterns and F/B Ratios...

Winegard Direct

And there used to be a handy Winegard antenna reference chart...but it looks like they updated the site and got rid of it. Shame, that thing was handy.
