Hello, and yes, I absolutely agree about digital broadcast strength. Have you seen this thread http://www.dtvusaforum.com/dtv-recep...s-reports.html yet? It gives an estimate of what you should be receiving in your town/city/state. I have searched on all of my local broadcast stations for power output of digital channels and if there's going to be an increase after February 17th. Can't find any answers.

I'm pulling in
4.1, 7.1 HD, 7.2 SD, 44.1, 44.2, 44.3, 44.4, 2.1, 2.2, 5.1
Signal range for all is between 52-72% strength. This is on my Vizio 22" LCD HDTV witha built in HD tuner btw.

Wellcraft, the link you're looking for on www.tvfool.com is the "Start Here" link I believe.
Your roof top should be sufficient considering you're only 14.5 Miles from broadcast towers. How many feet of cable are you running from the roof top antenna to your converter box? Are there any splitters? Also, is there an external amplifier connected in-line with the antenna and converter box?

Alot of people tell me that an amp will even worsen your reception, but in my case, it helps. ALOT. Definetly add an amp if you can.
Also, if you have a roof antenna, get a rotor. That way you can move the antenna around and point it towards the towers.
A rotor and amp will help.

Check tv fool and see if your channels are UHF or VHF I had a lady whose box got nothing and she had a VHF antenna and all of the stations are UHF on the digital side. also she had twin lead from her antenna, replace her antenna with a UHF and run coax to the box now gets great reception.

This is what we also thought on the roof. Only have 40ft coaxal, no splitters and one coupler. no amp. the 14.5 mile are close ,but what about the mountains (line of site) ? Thanks for the help
