I replaced our antenna two years ago and it said it was both vhf and uhf, is there a way you can look at them and see? I'll try anything that keeps me away from cabel or other. Thanks ahead of time.

Also, if you have a roof antenna, get a rotor. That way you can move the antenna around and point it towards the towers.

A rotor and amp will help.
Before I act like I know what we are talking about, what is an amp, and what does it look like. Then I can give a better answer.
PS: I have a antenna pole that i can loosen and turn just as good as a rotor?

Ok forget the amp I was referring to a pre amp on the antenna but that was another post there have been so many I get confused. turn the UHF portion of the antenna toward the transmitters and see if that helps. that is the bow tie looking end not the one that looks like arrows or straight elements.
<<<<((( Bad graphic interpretation.

With a rotor you can rotate the antenna wihout even going on the roof. Some of them have a remote control.

I will try tomoorow after I get home from work. Thanks. So what I think I'm hearing is treat it (the antenna) just like we do with analog. Test with hieght and directional for best piture? Now They say here in NM that we have some digital channels out there but not full power until feb17, my question I'm I waisting my time before than? I hope this works, it's not here and I'm over it.
Thanks again.

You might, depending on how broadcast towers are situated. You can kind of get a guestimate based off of your TV Fool results.

Go to tvfool.com click on the get started link put in your address and it will show you distance signal strength noise levels for both now and post transition. most transmitters in the US are at close to full power, but the signal is a little different most being UHF which is not as strong a signal as VHF so you have to have real high gain antennas. I always suggest the Antennas direct 91-xg for UHF and the Wineguard YA713 for VHf. it is better to combine tow antennas with the channel master 7777 than to use a combination antenna which has a strong VHF and a weak UHF side.
