LED, that has to be pretty bright at night.
I've seen a few of those in LA too. Pretty cool mr Pogi. Has to be nice for the company who rents advertising space on that sign, they can rotate more ads and make more money than just a normal billboard.

Seen those in Vegas for sure. @New York, New York and outside of the Luxor hotel. Very bright!

Brightness is a user function...
@Aaron62:
Brightness is a user function that some of our users don't seem to understand. All these have some sort of dimming feature, be it a sensor or sun rise / set table. Once we sell it, its out of our hands. We recommend nighttime levels of about 15% or less. A lot of owners seem to think that brighter is better. Never mind the fact it hurts your eyes, is distracting, and you can't even read the message! This has resulted in several markets banning these signs, and some people are annoyed by them. I, being an amatuer astronomer, have my misgivings, also. But LED signs direct light DOWN, not up. If I compare these when properly calibrated to a traditional billboard that has MEGAWATT lights shining directly up to the sky and blocking the stars for miles... I choose these, because theres no way to get rid of the traditional billboards. Lesser of 2 evils, I guess.
We also developed software to put up amber alerts.
@CptlA: NY,NY and Luxor are old signs... some of the new ones are WYNN, Planet Hollywood... check those out. There's no such thing a s "too bright" in Vegas. Used to live there, 120 degrees is just stipid.
