Would new tower construction fall under stuff Falcon keeps up to date on your site?

I still want network on the first expansion of a page on the listings. But I understand it might be deep in the coding at this point.

What I have for construction permits and applications is about all the FCC will give me without a lot of work.

Finding out about new tower construction would probably be beyond the scope of what I could code or could want to code. Falcon's busy looking at transition paperwork, and actually he might be swamped with regular money work since I haven't heard from him in a few days.

Basically, Falcon does the spreadsheet and only the spreadsheet. Anything relating to the rest of the site is mine to deal with.

Adding a listing for it isn't hard, it's adding an ACCURATE listing that's hard. The FCC database actually has a field for "Network Affiliation" which I'm using on the TVGOS page, but I don't trust it, and I don't think it lists CW or My stations. I have CW listed for XETV through a tweak in the database, and you can see KTXS, KALB, and WBOC for examples of inconsistencies in the database that make me not want to rely too heavily on it. It's not wrong, just inconsistent.

I do trust my own subchannel listings, but they are in a separate table in the database, so I'd have to figure out how to pull in the subchannel database and then list the right subchannel.

I've been thinking about how to code this feature. We'll have to see what I manage to come up with.

According to their website it should be up and going. i hear speculation that it's down or not digital yet, and from people nearby who said it just came on, so i rescan/even manual tune. nothing. 0%. no digital signal, not even a red-zoned one. all other channels are now upwards of 78-89% all the time. 12 plus days to go where's CW?!

I hate having even one channel missing. what gives?!
This is something that bugs me. Companies are quick enough to take cash if they need to, but when it comes to fixing problems - god help us!

I just miss the shows that aired on CW. quite a few in fact that don't show on other channels. the only way to see my fix of King of the Hill, Family Guy and American Dad is weekly on Fox 7 WTVW. but on CW i could watch it every night in 1-hour blocks each. that and George Lopez which airs afterwards on that channel and Nickenlodeon's Nick @ Nite block, sadly on cable/satellite only.

And not to mention Friends and the Dead Zone. when i watched analog that was the channel i'd watch most. now it's gone. i get all the other channels fine. but that one...it irks me. CW WAZE does still air on Dish Network, DirecTV, and cable, but not OTA. hopefully it will have an affiliate channel or sub-channel, perhaps FOX will offer it as a sub-channel since our FOX channel, 7-1, is by itself. the others have at least one or more subchannels (KET has 3 in addition to itself) so maybe that's planned. or maybe come June 12th CW will 'magically' re-appear.

Holy crap, did anyone see this?????

Welcome to JDTVB - Jake's DTV Blog: From the "I Am (Not) Shocked" file: Nielsen admits to HUGE screw-up

For those of you who still think the Nielsen ratings are the last word in who's #1 in your market, you might want to hold that thought.

Why?

Because, for at least the past 10 months -- and possibly (I'll bet probably) longer -- Nielsen did not count digital OTA, cable or satellite viewers for Birmingham, Ala., ABC affiliates WJSU and WCFT, just those watching the stations' analog OTA signals.

Oops.

WJSU/WCFT General Manager Mike Murphy, who suspects the undercounting has been going on for far longer than 10 months, told TVNewsday for today's edition, "That is simply astonishing. We are very unhappy."

That WAZE-TV info is months old now. but now it appears TVFool has more 'errors.' now CW is showing up as #2 in the list, while it is still MIA in reality, plus i got a 'new' channel, Channel 42.1, and it isn't showing in TV Fool's map at all. so why is a channel that isn't available showing up as available yet a channel that actually is available isn't? i'm starting to go back to favoring Antennaweb.org again.

The data is three months old, but nothing has changed. If it had, Jake would have posted an update. This guy is like a hawk; if something changes in the Evansville market, he usually knows about it.

CW showing up is not an error. It lists signals that have permits to operate, whether they're on the air or not. WAZE has a permit to operate with the facilities shown, and assuming they don't modify the permit with the FCC, when the signal comes on the air that is how it will look. There are more than 4,000 full- and low-powered TV stations in the US, Andy can't be expected to know the on-air status of all of them. I certainly don't.

Given the time of day, I'd suspect you're receiving WKMA-DT 42 Madisonville (35-1) via tropospheric ducting, which will go away around 11AM local time. There is no way to predict what signals will be brought in via events that are by their very definition instabilities in the atmosphere.
