Retro TV channel odd programming.
So i set my VCR to record my saturday shows so i could have some fun this weekend and watch them when i got back:
Buck Rogers, Battlestar Galactica, Black Sheep Squadron. ok so after Galactica the channel went all Outer Limits style, like when you watch a VHS tape that had your show recorded over. static and then this stupid 'Horror Television' or something like that. is it Halloween or something and what happened to Black Sheep Squadron?! if it was an infomercial it was an oddball and it was on 1-hour early. did anyone else who gets Retro TV Network (RTN) have the same thing happen?!
It was still going about it when i turned the TV on again at 1AM. is RTN gone?

It could be that other programming or infomercials have been substituted for RTN on the channel that you are watching/taping. That happens from time to time. I would contact the station carrying RTN in your area. RTN is alive and well, as far as I know, but, unfortunately, NOT in the Los Angeles market.

How I wish I had it in the Gainesville FL market.. It's in Jacksonville, FL on RF 30 at 61 miles at 1000 ft, which is just about 15 miles too far to pick up. I tried with about 10db of gain at 30 ft, and not signal at all.
I keep hoping in one had and wishing in the other someone puts on a channel in the Gainesville market with a 4 or so SD channels, like RTN, ThisTV, ION, etc. but the chance is tiny to non existent. After all just this year we finally have a NBC. They are not on my satellite either, even though even though I am closer to Gainesville, I am in the Orlando DMA. But only ION is on a main channel and DirecTV only carries what is on the main channel. Gainesville does have MyNet and CW+, so I can't complain too loud for our market size. But I can wish in both hands, lol.

there's going to be lots of reorganizing of the airwaves with the transition. I'm starting to see a couple of low-power stations prepping up to turn on.
It's gonna be a very exciting couple of weeks. Hopefully a couple of little-known satellite-only channels would move to over-the-air, under a sub-channel designation, to get a better audience range.

I have thought the same thing. I just hope that the FCC has learned their lesson on High Band (CH 7-13). No more of these LD (low power digital) stations on high band stuck between two high power stations. It doesn't work for anyone. It makes the range of the low power next to nothing, yet ruins reception for deep fringe viewers of the high power stations.
But UHF fills in nicely given enough range.
I too have thought there are some now cable only channels that would be smart to offer themselves as a broadcast channel as well.

Cincinnati has Retro tv, ThisTV, and White Springs tv (White Springs can be viewed online too) so that's a nice market for digital tv. Here in Dayton we have ThisTV on 45.2 but it's uaually better to watch on 19.2 out of Cincy since they show the network uncut. 45.2 preempts it a lot with infomercials and MyNetworkTV.
Also still waiting for the Dot 2 network to launch.

I tried to tune it again but it was nothing but info-ads. i hope RTN here isn't always this weird horror flick thing forever, whatever happened at 10PM Sat night was creepy. as in there were tons of nutbars on saying all this about 2012 and whatever else. I guess the Goths will be all over this...it's even got 'we'll be right back' title cards. i sure hope this isn't the end of my RTN channel.

RTN took over the shopping channel that was in this area (boston - WMFP) but I have alot of trouble getting them to come in stable enough.
I have THIS TV though

This morning i had some sort of e-skip (channels which don't normally come in but do until ~8AM) and three of them were identical to NBC, WFIE Weather, and THIS TV. but on digital channels 3-1, 3-2, and 3-3, needless to say they were unwatchable because VHF sucks here; also there was one known as 58-1, WDRB-DT. i don't know what it was since it, too, was unwatchable pixelations and the program schedule was too close to every other channel i get to give it away. i'll have to check TV Fool. funny thing was during this 'extra channels' thing, the normal NBC, WFIE Weather, and THIS TV were 0% and no signal until the skip was over, then they were back on their normal setup.
The 'ghost' NBC affiliates on 3-1, 3-2, and 3-3 were known as 'WAVE, WAVE WX, and WAVE MV'

Let's correct this post.

This is not e-skip. This is tropospheric ducting.

I'm pretty certain WFIE Weather and WAVE Weather are not identical.

WAVE-DT is on channel 47.

WDRB-DT is on channel 49 and maps to 41-1. WMYO-DT is on channel 51 and maps to 58-1.

Probably interference from another station on channel 46.

Right, that's because it was WAVE-DT and not WFIE-DT.
