Default signal overload with addition of pre-amp?

Added a pre-amp to my antenna setup and in addition to picking up a few stations, I'm now having problems with a VHF station 7 miles away. Is there a way to get around this?

turn the antenna so that that station is to it's back or to the side. if you can do this and still pick up the other stations. or add a attenuator in line before the tv

If it's your only VHF station, you could put the amp into a UVSJ and put up a separate VHF antenna for that station. If it's not your only VHF it won't work.
